Parent Athletics F.A.Q’s

A:  We have two types of donations

  1. Donations through our Fundraisers (Freedom Run and Golf Tournament)
  2. Direct Donations to a Team

Freedom Run donations will be divided by % between the general Sports Fund and the designated Team Fund. Golf Tournament donations go into the General Sports Fund to support the needs of all the teams.

A: Yes, you can specify what Team or General Fund your donation can go to. You can recommend what your donation should be utilized for, but the final decision is the school’s responsibility.

A: This is one of the best ways to bring money directly into a specific teams’ account.

A: The annual Golf Tournament is the biggest opportunity to build the general Sports Fund account. This account is used to purchase items that benefit multiple teams.

A: Donations are tax deductible. Receipts are issued with all donations. The Foundation Tax ID # is available upon request.

A: Yes, a business can purchase a banner for $350. $300 of this money will go to the team designated. The banner will hang on the East fence facing our parking lot for one year.

A: Yes. There is a general athletic donation button on the athletic website. The link is https://athletics.sra.mn/general-donation/.

A: Each athlete and parent must fill out a new athletic handbook each school year. Once an athlete has turned their handbook into the athletic office, it is not necessary to fill out a new one for each sport within that school year. The handbooks can be found at https://athletics.sra.mn/downloads/.

A: It is a CIF requirement that each 9th-12th-grade student is cleared by a doctor before participating in any CIF school sport.

A: Without the doctor’s physical, the athlete cannot participate with the team, including practices.

Santa Rosa Academy offers a Sports Physical day in May each year when a doctor does the physicals on campus for the following year. Check the sports calendar for the specific date and time.

I-Care Urgent Care in Murrieta will also do sports physicals without an appointment. The address is 27722 Clinton Keith Rd., Murrieta. Information can be found at http://icareuc.com/.

A: Your coach or the athletic department has a form that you can fill out to give another parent permission to sign your student out early for a game. The early dismissals are not necessarily mandatory. You can choose to wait until the regular dismissal time if you think you can still get your student to the game on time. The athletic department offers the early dismissal as a convenience to you.

A: Your coach should be communicating the game schedule with you, including any changes. You can also find game start times and locations on the athletic website, https://athletics.sra.mn/athletic-calendar/.

A: Lockers are available only to high school athletes, only during their CIF season. Even though many teams practice year round, we only have room to give lockers to athletes that are in their team’s season.

A: There is an admission charge for our high school football and our teams that play in the gym. We can accept credit cards at the Football games, but there is an additional charge. We can only accept cash at the games in the gym.

Football admission:

$8- Adult

$5- Students (13 and up)

Volleyball, Wrestling and Basketball Admission:

$5- Adult

$3- Students

$2- Students with a Ranger card

$1- Children (12 yrs and under), Senior Citizens and Military.

$3- Students with a Ranger card, Children (12yrs and under), Senior Citizens and Military.

A: Some of our sports require more volunteer participation because the sport requires someone to run the scoreboard, keep the scorebook, work the admission table, work in the concession stand, work the sidelines, etc. In reality, none of our sports programs can be successful without the support and help from our awesome parents.

A: The protocol for any of our sports is for the athlete to talk first to his/her coach about the issue. If the athlete does not feel that a resolution has been reached, he/she needs to make an appointment to talk to the athletic director. If this does not resolve the problem, only then should the parent make an appointment to talk first to the coach, then to the athletic director. Only as a last resort should the parent need to make an appointment to address the issue with the principal. Our goal is to come to a satisfactory resolution before it gets to that point.

Yes. It is required for all athletes to have medical insurance. Although, Santa Rosa Academy does not provide individual student medical insurance, here is a link to affordable health insurance, http://www.allinforhealth.org/healthforallkids.
